This Kid Cracks Me Up!

So, Lexi has the funniest personality of any baby that I know. (I'm sure that most mom's say that, but I honestly think it's true with mine.) Here are some of the funny things that she does that I cannot get enough of:


-She always has to take her shoes and socks off when she gets in the car. At first, I used to tease her and tickle the bottoms of her feet. After a few days of this, Lexi decided that it's more fun to tickle her own feet. When she takes her shoes off, all I say is, "Tickle, tickle, tickle." She grabs her foot, and starts to tickle it with her other hand. Sometimes, she'll even laugh while she's doing it.


-She will spin in circles in our front room until she makes herself dizzy. She usually falls over, laughs, and tries to regain her sense of direction. Then, she gets up and does it all over again.


-She loves to lock herself in a room and knock on the door to come out. She does it just to be funny, but most of the time, she does it when she's mad. If she gets in trouble for doing something bad, she goes to her room and shuts the door. She'll knock on it until someone comes to get her out.


-When I wash her car seat, I always bring it into the house to sit while the cover is in the wash. The plastic car seat then becomes her favorite toy. She can play and play on that stupid piece of plastic for hours.


-If there is a water bottle with a lid out, she needs to be playing with it. She will turn the lid back and forth and back and forth and back and forth for hours. I never knew that a water bottle could be so entertaining.

She does so many things that are just so funny. But, my very favorite thing that she does is: She has a back-up beeper. She thinks that walking or crawling backwards is really funny. So, she does it all the time. Every time she backs up, she says, "beep, beep, beep" as she's going. It is so funny to watch! I just can't get enough of her goofy personality (that I blame all on her dad)!

Our Announcement!

Well, we are finally ready to make a big announcement!

Lexi is going to be a big sister! Yes, that means I'm pregnant. I'm due March 26th, and we are so excited. So far, this pregnancy has been a little rougher than it was with Lexi. I have felt more tired and definitely more nauseous. But, I'm hoping that I'm getting past the nausea and tiredness as the 2nd trimester quickly approaches me. We made Lexi this shirt because we wanted her to be able to tell the families that we were pregnant. But, she obviously can't talk, so she wore this shirt to make the announcement. We are so excited to have another baby be brought into our lives and can't wait to see Lexi be a big sister.

Simple Pleasures

Lexi can find the most fun in the simplest of toys. I love these pictures and I just can't get enough of this kid. I love watching her personality come out more and more everyday. I can't wait to see her grow up. Here are some pictures of her "favorite" toys:

She was helping Uncle Daniel clean out the storage unit. She actually looks like she knows how to use that thing.

This is her toy bucket. She climbed into it one day, so I pilled all her toys on top of her. She just sat there and watched tv all covered in toys.

I decided to wash her carseat. The plastic part was just sitting in our front room and she was entertained with it for hours.
She totally poses for pictures when you get the camera out. This is Lexi's "cheese face." She cracks me up.

Daddy was taking a nap on the floor. Lexi climbed onto his chest and was taking a nap with him. She never falls asleep, but she'll lay there for like 10 seconds.

Redneck Swimming Pool

Well, I've definitely learned some things after getting married, buying a house, having a baby, etc. One of the biggest things is: When you're poor, you improvise. So, here goes....Lexi is starting to actually enjoy the swimming pool. But, living in Eagle Mountain, there isn't one anywhere close to here. I've looked at buying one of the inflatible ones from Walmart, but just haven't convinced myself to do it yet. Thayne has had this raft sitting in our basement for a while. So, we made Lexi a "redneck swimming pool." We filled the raft with air, put it in our driveway (we don't really have great grass just yet), and we filled it with hose water. She loved it!
